Its all starting to sink in...

I was just looking at some pictures to put on my blog and started gettin a little sad. I'm happy that we're here and have so much opportunity and that life is going to get a lot better, but I'm sad that I won't be able to be so close to all of you, and its just a big change. I thought with all that we've been through in this last year, that this song was very suitable, and gave me some courage to start this new chapter. But in respects to the last move and changes and such, here are some pics to enjoy while you listen to the song from Meet the Robinsons, its a great one!

Saying Goodbye

Well, I haven't had a chance to post these up yet cause my computer was packed, but it is unpacked, so here we go. These were Tori and Abbie's preschool teachers. Tori's teacher was Mrs. Smart, and Abbie's teacher was Mrs. Cochran. Both amazing teachers who we dearly miss! These pics are from their last day of preschool.

Welcome to Texas... Jeni, you were right.

So first of all, rest easy, I'm alive. I don't know how many of you saw the news this morning, but there were TORNADOES!!!! I guess you can say my life is never boring, huh? So my sister in law, Jeni told me there were tornadoes in Dallas. I was terrified. So I asked people around here about it, and they all said No, no tornadoes. So I felt much better. We moved here last Saturday, and four days later, guess what happens, TORNADOES! Crazy! Luckily there weren't any tornadoes in our area exactly, but in Southern Dallas there was, and West of us there was. This is sure to be an interesting life here :) Lets just hope it is a long life, not a short one, right?

Wow Wednesday!

So I was thinking about the Twilight Series and how I really need to get the next few books and how I don't have money and then this idea popped into my head: ONLINE LIBRARY. I thought, you know, I'll bet there is a library out there that will send me a book. So I checked and sure enough, there is! http://www.bookswim.com is like Netflix in that there are no late fees and no shipping costs, you sign up, make a list of books, and they send them to you, you read them, send them back, and they send you more. http://www.booksfree.com is also another one. I thought it was brilliant because I'm not one to read a book more than once except for the scriptures, I just feel like its redundant, so this is perfect for me. After some searching, I found some coupon codes as well :) http://www.retailmenot.com/view/bookswim.com and http://www.retailmenot.com/booksfree.com

So I thought this was such a great idea and then I thought, "Wow, its Wednesday!"

(*please note that a lot of the bookswim coupons did not work, I think booksfree is probably much less expensive.) And if you do decide to do booksfree, enter in my email as a referral: littleangelbaby@mac.com :)

AND PLEASE LIST IN COMMENTS ANY RECOMMENDED BOOKS YOU THINK I SHOULD READ. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ELSE TO GET EXCEPT FOR THE TWILIGHT SERIES, SO ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ARE APPRECIATED, JUST MAKE SURE ITS A BOOK I WON'T BE ABLE TO PUT DOWN CAUSE ITS SO GOOD :)

The Lord Works Mighty Miracles

So we have the ABF Moving Truck coming to deliver our things today. We live on a very busy street that is usually lined with cars on our side of the street (its a one-way street) and the only place the Moving Truck could possibly park is right outside our door on this street. We called Dallas City to see if they could let us cone off the area to reserve it for our truck and they denied our request, so it was up to us and the Lord to leave four cars worth of space on this busy street open for our truck to come this morning at 8:00 AM. We worried about it quite a bit yesterday, and I decided to leave it up to the Lord to take care of, so I prayed really hard and had faith. Last night I woke up at least three times to check outside to see if cars have moved or not and they were still there. I didn't give up hope. So this morning we went out there, AND?... the cars were still there, HOWEVER, those cars were on the left side of our house, and there were no cars on the right side of our house where I couldn't see out my window. Four cars length. Just amazing. So we hurried this morning at 6:00 AM to go park our cars inconsiderate enough to take 4 parking spaces :) And Brad is standing out there looking official in his khakis and khaki contractor jacket and don't forget the flashlight he's holding :) He's so cute. He likes to feel official :) Anyway, so the space is ours, we've got 65 feet of room, the truck is about 40 feet, so I think we'll make it. If it makes the story any better, I woke up at 4:00 AM Washington time! :)

Did I mention the Accents?

The accents are pretty cute. I have to stop myself from smiling or laughing when I hear them. People here probably think I'm weird cause in my head I'm giggling at how funny these ladies sound, but outside I'm trying to keep a straight face. You can definitely tell who has lived here in Texas longer.

Some weird things about Texas

So here's a few things I've noticed, just to educate the world on Texas...

First thing we noticed that was weird is that the stop lights are sideways. So red is on the left, yellow in the middle, green on the right. Very weird. Trips me out everytime I see them.

Texas is a DOG LOVING state. Like everyone has dogs here! And you can bring them into places, and everyone loves them, almost all housing accepts pets, its very convenient and a little odd to me.

There are police officers in almost every store, just roaming the isles. I think its supposed to make me feel safe, but it has the opposite effect for me. I figure, why do they need them?

Okay, so this is weird. There are advertisements for this Sarah Marshall movie everywhere that are just crazy. The first day we were here, we started seeing these advertisements that say for example: "You do look fat in those jeans." or "I'm so over you." or "I hate you Sarah Marshall." And then it references this blog, www.ihatesarahmarshall.com So Brad and I thought that it was this freaky guy that was obsessed with his ex-girlfriend. Brad and I decided we needed to just tell him what's up and that he needs to get over his girlfriend because he's probably spending millions on these billboards and advertisements about his ex-girlfriend, then we did a little more searching and realized its an advertisement for a movie coming out about this guy that can't get over his ex. So Brad and I felt very relieved that there wasn't actually a freak out there spending millions on an ex-girlfriend, because that's just nuts. Anyway, so everywhere we go, we see these random hate messages, and I just felt so bad for Sarah Marshall. It's still weird!

One thing that I think is kinda odd, and everyone knows what I'm saying, is that TONS of people have bumper stickers and vinyl decals on their trucks and cars that devote their love for Texas. I just don't understand this. I'm debating if I should join in the party and get one of my own just to find out why its such a big thing here, but don't you think if you live here that in and of itself states you love the state? Why does everyone feel they have to tell the world they love it? Just wondering. Maybe I'll join the crowd and I'll let you know what the big fuss is all about.

Now this is probably not that weird to the rest of the world, but to people that live in Utah, and even in Vancouver, WA, this is kinda weird. They drink wine and beer like its water! They don't offer any other drinks at restaurants besides like the Coca-Cola options and then wines and beers. NO STRAWBERRY LEMONADE! Can you believe that? It's rather frustrating to be honest.

Thank You

Thank you everyone for your comments, you guys are so nice. All of us bloggers know that comments are the best compliments we get on a blog and it just makes me so happy to know that you guys actually care about our life :) Well, I finally got internet again. We are officially Texians :) You know they used to call Texans Texians back in the day but apparently they needed to simplify? So I'm I Texan now, holy cow. I feel like I'm going against the honor of my family, I was raised to think that Texas was dumb and Texans were stuck up, and here I am. Maybe it is dumb, and maybe I am stuck up, but I LOVE IT! Its 89 degrees outside today. Surprisingly enough, I'm not bothered by the humidity, it really isn't bad. I'm guessing it will get worse because, holy cow, its only the beginning of April, but its beautiful outside! There are SO many trees and green grass EVERYWHERE! I'll show pics as soon as I can, probably tomorrow or the next day.

So I found the place we are staying at on the internet and just looked it up on the map to make sure it was close to Brad's work. Apparently everyone that we tell where we live says that we live on the GAY side of town. Apparently there are a lot of gays. So at least I know I'm safe here, but we'll just have to make sure Brad is safe :) To be honest, I'd prefer it this way. I live in "Uptown", yeah, I'm an uptown girl now. We saw three Lamborghini's yesterday on our street. CRAZINESS! I think everyone here is not rich, just deeply in debt :) So I don't feel bad. We've got a nice townhome in a dog loving community where they have Halloween Costume Contests for your dog, not your kids. Can you believe that? A far cry from my dear ol' Pemberley. They probably have an Easter Egg Hunt for dogs with bones too. So my Nali is pretty happy here.

I'll save more for tomorrow, but keep checking the blog cause I got LOTS to tell you!
